Professional Experience:

Involved in the land development industry in Southern California for over 23 years. Responsibilities include project coordination with clients as well as budgeting, invoicing and scheduling of projects with clients, agencies and staff. Directly responsible for the ultimate design of several major subdivision projects within Orange and San Diego Counties. Responsible for processing final engineering plans through the appropriate governmental agencies. Supervises a staff of engineers, designers and draftsmen who prepare preliminary and final engineering drawings, record maps, and various exhibits. Prior to establishing Mayers and Associates Civil Engineering, Inc. in 1999, worked as Vice President/Project Manager for Hunsaker & Associates Irvine, Inc. for over 12 years. Prior experience includes design engineer for over 11 years with Hunsaker & Associates, David A. Boyle Engineering, and both of the cities of Norwalk and Huntington Beach.

 

Key Projects:

 

Encinitas Ranch – Portion of Encinitas Ranch Specific Plan area including Encinitas Ranch Golf Course, Leucadia Boulevard, Quail Gardens Drive, Paseo de Las Flores and over 300 residential units. Included over 1.5 million cubic yards of grading, partial golf course design, drainage design, AutoCAD drawing conversions, irrigation plans, habitat preservation, riparian mitigation, 4 miles of streets, 2 miles of storm drain, and 1 mile of sewer. Also included the 10-acre Paul Ecke Ranch Research Park on Saxony Road, the school and community use areas adjacent to Quail Gardens Drive and the sports park in Green Valley adjacent to Cambria Road. Responsibilities included design and processing of grading and improvement plans, field staking, project coordination, attendance at Encinitas City Council Ad-Hoc Committee meetings for Quail Gardens Drive, and attendance at Encinitas Ranch Coordination Meetings.

 

Pacific Vista – Approximately 250,000 square foot, 20-acre commercial development in the City of Lake Forest for Trammel Crow Company. Included coordination with the Federal Aviation Authority, the City of Lake Forest, the Los Alisos Water District and other consultants. Responsibilities included conceptual grading design, hydrology analysis, design of precise grading, sewer, domestic water, reclaimed water, fire protection, hardscape improvements and storm drain.

 

Twin Oaks Valley Ranch – Twin Oaks Valley Ranch Golf Course and 293 Single Family homes in the City of San Marcos. Included cost estimates and coordinating three-phase construction of approximately 3.5 miles of Twin Oaks Valley Road reconstruction. Also included Riparian Mitigation, 3 million cubic yards of grading, partial relocation of 36” Vista Irrigation flume, over 5 miles of public streets, and legal descriptions and sketches used for right of way dedication and grading and drainage easements. Responsibilities included design and processing construction drawings through the City of San Marcos, Vista Irrigation District and the Vallecitos Water District and construction coordination for all improvements and construction coordination for all grading including the golf course.

 

Foothill Transportation Corridor – 1.3 miles of the Foothill Transportation Corridor in Orange County. Included approximately 3 million cubic yards of grading and design per Caltrans standards and additional requirements established by the Transportation Corridors Agency. Responsibilities included grading design, field staking, construction coordination, preparation of grading specifications, bid administration for acquisition by the Transportation Corridors Agency, plan processing and coordination with the Corridor Design Management Group, the County of Orange, and the Foothill Circulation Phasing Program.

 

Tustin Ranch – An Assessment District in the Cities of Tustin and Orange, CA. Included over 10 miles of arterial highways designed per Caltrans design criteria and the cities standards. Also included over 3 million cubic yards of grading, 4 miles of RCP storm drain, relocation of water facilities along Municipal Water District of Orange County’s 84” and 54” waterlines and Irvine Ranch Water District’s 54” waterline. Included relocation of approximately 2000’ of 21” and 24” waterlines for East Orange County Water District. Responsibilities included design, specifications, construction consulting, field staking, agency processing and project coordination.

 

Foothill Ranch – 1,800 Residential Units plus a school, park, and 2 water reservoir sites. Residential units comprised of individual lots, condominiums, and apartments. Included 10,000,000 cubic yards of grading, 4 miles of major arterial highway and 10 miles of local streets, 2 miles of storm drain facilities, 8 miles of sewer and 10 miles of waterlines. Also included coordination of slope planting, habitat protection and fire protection with various departments of the County of Orange. Responsibilities included design and processing of construction drawings for above-mentioned improvements through the County of Orange and the Irvine Ranch Water District, construction coordination, field staking, and preparation of exhibits utilized for Conditions of Approval and other Department of Real Estate processing.

 

Knott’s Berry FarmCamp Snoopy: A 15-acre addition to the existing park providing an area geared toward younger children and their families. Included over 10 rides and amusement activity areas. Incorporated a pond area for electronically controlled boats as well as a stream and waterfall. Responsibilities included design for sewer, waterlines, storm drain lines, storm drain pump station, dry utility coordination, grading, drainage, concrete improvements, field staking and processing through the City of Buena Park.

Fiesta Village: A 6-acre refurbishment to an existing area of the park. Existing attractions were demolished and replaced by 4 new rides. The existing carousel was taken down, restored, and reinstalled in a new location. A new dance area was provided for nighttime entertainment. Responsibilities included design of sewer, water, drainage lines, grading, concrete improvements, demolition plan, field staking, and dry utility coordination.

East Parking Lot: a 25-acre area of the park, east of Beach Boulevard, near Independence Hall, was turned into a parking lot for over 3,000 vehicles. Responsibilities included design of grading, drainage improvements, paving plan, striping plan, field staking, and dry utility coordination.
